What different ways can you socially interact with other people in a virtual world?

Anyone can do anything at anytime of the day. That is what it is like in virtual worlds. Just like in a real world people need to be entertained. In Second Life you can entertain yourself by talking to a friend to flying helicopters and jumping out of planes to skydive. Our world is limited as what our bodies allow us to do. Most of the time the older we get the harder it is for our bodies to withstand all that we want to do. But in Second Life it is different, there are no physical limitations on what can be done.

My sweedish partner and I are still having problems being able to meet in SL because of the 7 hour time difference. She has class when I am availible and in return I have class or work when she is availible.

My sweedish partner and I have not been able to meet to do much in Second Life since the first couple days that she was learning how to navigate.

This is the age of technology. Computers are getting smaller and faster. People are able to communicate with anyone around the world in just seconds. With the new advances in technology people are able to make new and better types of movies. One of which is Machinima. Machinima is a new type of movie creation. It is where you use avatars in an animated world and record a video from what is seen there. This artform is a very cost and time effective form of filmmaking within a virtual space combining animation, gaming and artificial intelligence.

I met my Sweedish partner the other day. Her avatar name is kajsa Krokus and is from finland. I took her to Selmo park and tried teachin her how to fly and walk around. She is still having problems navigating though. She is good at teleporting and starting to learn a lot better.

Thesis statement for Machinima

Machinima is a new form for creating short movies. Producers, such as Risen Fall, have used this technique for creating movies. This artform is a very cost and time effective form of filmmaking within a virtual space combining animation, gaming and artificial intelligence.

This is Apocalypse. It is hard to tell what it was intended for. There is not really anything in the buildings and a lot of the people there are dressed in dark black and leather clothes. The outfits are some of which you would see on prostitutes. They are somewhat friendly but they want us to only talk in the chat IM box. You are not allowed to fly or do several other things in that area which is a major disappointment since there isn’t really anything to do there anyway. There is a park and that is all that I found that would want to make me go there.

Solar Exhibit

This is the solar information place on top of one of the buildings on Info Island. It gives information about the planets and about the solar system. There are pictures that help show what the note cards are talking about.

Chakryn Forest is where that was from. I never saw anyone there besides the person that I went there with. We found some neat old statues. You are allowed to fly in this place unlike some of the others that I have been to

This is Peace Park. It is a beautiful park on Info Island. It tells about different flower things. There are a lot of butterflies flying around you and a bunch of flowers everywhere.

Let Me Introduce my Second Life

My avatar is a self image. He has a dark colored goatee with little to no hair on the head. He is also tan since in the summer I usually get darker tan. He is wearing a t-shirt which I usually wear all through-out the year. The jeans are a baggy and boot cut at the shoes. He is taller than I would be and more muscular. This is going to be the standard physical appearance; the clothes will change as I find new clothes through-out second life that I like. I made the changes because I wanted it to look more like me. I wanted the avatar to look as much like me as I could with a few modifications. I did not ask for input on how I looked because I really don’t care what people think about me. I have not spent any money on my appearance everything has been free. I like the way I look in Second Life because that is a lot like I look in real life. There are some changes I would like to make, I haven’t found them yet but I know that there are some that I want to change.
